Penn State Behrend Women's Water Polo Closes Out 2010 Invitational

The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team closed out their 2010 Behrend Invitational with two losses to the Gannon Golden Knights and the Mercyhurst Lakers.

In the first game of the day, the blue and white faced off against familiar foe Gannon with high hopes of competing at a high level.  The Behrend Lions dropped the game by a final score of 15-1.  MaryEllen Spooner (Springfield, Va/West Springfield) had the only goal of the game for the Behrend Lions coming in the second period.

The second game of the day and the third game overall saw the blue and white battle the Mercyhurst Lakers till the very end.  Mercyhurst jumped on the blue and white early with three goals to open the first period.  The Lakers got one goal each in the second and third periods and that would be all the scoring.  At the end of the day, the Behrend Lions went 0-3 in the Invitational and have an overall record of 0-10.

Next up for Coach Tristan's squad is another matchup with Gannon on Wednesday, March 24 at the Junker Center pool.  The contest is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.  The blue and white will then travel to the Wheaton Invitational which will take place on March 26 and 27.
