Lions Kick Off Season With Win, Ramsey Finishes First

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team took first at the Fisher Invitational hosted by Westminster on Friday night.

The Lions, who came in first with 50 points, were led by Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) who won the race with a time of 24:13.86. Westminster came in behind Behrend with 52 points. Geneva came in third (61) and Franciscan and Washington & Jefferson rounded off the top five, scoring 98 and 110, respectively.

Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) and Caitlin Plazony (Fairview, PA/Fairview) had great first collegiate races, finishing sixth and seventh overall with a times of 24:41.56 and 24:43.75, respectively. Freshman Erica Koenig (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) finished the day with a time of 25:56.77, good enough for 15th overall.
