Simon Places 11th in 200 Backstroke at NCAA Championships; All-American HM

SHENANDOAH, TX - Penn State Behrend senior Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA/Penn Trafford) finished in 11th place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:48.17 on Saturday night at the Division III NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday.

His new time and place is good for All-American Honorable Mention after earning All-American status on Friday in the 100 backstroke.

In his final event of the NCAA Championships, Simon was in 15th place after the preliminaries, swimming a school and AMCC (Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference) record of 1:48.65. That time is almost four seconds faster than his seeded time of 1:52.02.
