Three Women's Track and Field Athletes Qualify for ECAC's at Cornell Invitational

ITHICA, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at the Cornell Invitational on Saturday.

Three Lions qualified for ECAC's and one school record fell.

Victoria Harwood (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) led the way for Behrend in the pole vault.  The senior vaulted 3.30m for third place.  The height qualified Harwood for the ECAC meet and broke her previous school record.

In the 800m, Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) took 12th place with a time of 2:20.86.  Catie Bertges competed in the 5000m for the Lions, placing 11th at 18:42.78.  Both Spade and Bertges had good enough times to qualify for ECAC's as well.

Alex Paget-Blanc (Paris, France/Aelene Boucher) continued to have an excellent first year with Behrend.  The freshman took seventh place in the 500m with a time of 1:22.99.

Harwood, Spade, and Paget-Blanc teamed up with Jen Gibson (Hookstown, PA/South Side) for the 4x400m relay.  The squad placed eighth at 4:10.65.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday at the Kenyon Invitational.
