The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team dropped a
12-6 decision to Washington & Jefferson in the Junker
Center pool on Thursday April 1. The blue and white fell
behind early but rallied to tie the score and then took the
lead at 4-3 after one period. The visiting Presidents
would storm back with three goals unanswered goals in the
second period to take a 6-4 lead into the break.
The Presidents continued the offensive pressure in the second half,
opening up a 10-4 lead and holding on for the six-goal
victory.
MaryEllen Spooner (Springfield,VA/WestSpringfield) led the Behrend Lions offense blasting home three goals while Tegan Boland (Roselle, IL/Conant) scored two goals, and Stefania Pontillo (Erie/McDowell) added two goals of her own.
The blue and white continue their homestand with a game against Mercyhurst at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6 in the Junker Center pool.
