Women's Water Polo Drops a Pair of Games

ERIE, Pa. - For the second straight day the Penn State Behrend women's water polo team took on Grove City and Washington and Jefferson. The Lions fell twice, first to Grove City 15-6 and then to Washington and Jefferson, 10-1.

The Lions (0-5) trailed 4-3 at halftime to Grove City but were outscored 7-3 in the second half. Kaitlyn Conely (Exeter, CA/Exeter) netted two goals in the game to lead Behrend. Mary Therese Causgrove, (Erie, PA/McDowell) Allie Schneider, (Erie, PA/McDowell) Breanne Martinez (La Mirada, CA/St. Joseph) and Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village) all chipped in goals.

In game two Washington and Jefferson (5-4) held Behrend to just one goal and picked up their fifth victory of the season. Causgrove scored the lone goal for the Lions, her second of the day. Kara Stegmann recorded six saves and five steals in the net for Behrend.

The Lions gear up for a road trip to California beginning on Tuesday. The Lions will travel to Caltech and then travel to La Verne on Wednesday. Both games will begin at 8 p.m.
