Gannon Downs Lions, 16-4

ERIE, Pa. – In their second game in as many days, the Penn State Behrend women's water polo team fell to local rival Gannon by a score of 16-4.

The Lions (6-13) trailed 4-2 after the first quarter, however Gannon (2-8) countered with eight goals in the second to build a 12-3 lead at the half. Gannon held Behrend to just one goal in the second half and picked up the cross-town rivalry victory.

In the net, Kara Stegmann (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) kept Behrend in the game with strong play. She finished the game with a total of 15 saves.

Kaitlyn Conely (Exeter, CA/Exeter) led the Lions with two goals while Alex Isaacson (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport) and Brittany Pinter (Erie, PA/McDowell) both added one goal.

Last on the schedule for the Behrend squad is the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championships hosted by Grove City. The Lions first game will take place Friday April 10 against an opponent not yet determined.
