Women’s Cross Country Captures 13th AMCC Title

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team captured its fifth straight and 13th overall AMCC Championship with 22 total points at the 2023 AMCC Championships Saturday afternoon in Buffalo.

Key Moments:

* The Lions secured five of the top 10 times Saturday for AMCC All-Conference honors
* Junior Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) earned her second career AMCC Runner of the Year honors, running a time of 23:10.76
* Nola was neck and neck with teammate Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin) for the entire race
* Carr finished just behind Nola with a time of 23:11.90 to be named AMCC Runner-Up
* Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) delivered a fourth place finish, crossing the finish line in a time of 24:33.18
* Rounding out the top 10 for the Lions were Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds) and Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), registering finishes at 25:17.50 and 25:53.84 seventh and eighth place, respectively
* Carr has won three individual championships in her collegiate career and bested her time of 24:06.4 at last season's championships, while Nola trumped her runner-up time last year of 24:35.1
* The marks by Hartle, Litwiler, and Laffan topped their times from a season ago at conference championships
* Other finishers for Behrend at Delaware Park were Haley Felton (Midway, PA/Fort Cherry) and Carly Amon (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview), who finished with times of 28:46.24 and 31:09.79
* The Lions finished 22 points ahead of the second place school Alfred State (44 points) to claim the  conference championship, followed by Hilbert (65 points) and Wells (79 points)
