Women’s Cross Country Prepped For Regional Race

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country will compete in the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championships hosted by Houghton on Saturday, Nov. 11. The 6k race begins at noon.

* Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin), Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth), Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds), Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), Haley Felton (Midway, PA/Fort Cherry), and Carly Amon (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) will participate in Saturday's race
* Freshman Abby Major (Erie, PA/McDowell) will serve as the Lions alternate runner this weekend
* Nola, Carr, Hartle, Litwiler, and Laffan all earned All-AMCC honors with their performances two weeks ago at AMCC Championships
* Their times propelled the women to their 13th overall championship and fifth consecutive title
* Nola and Carr were named to the All-Region team with 17th (23:15.4) and 20th (23:27.0) place finishes out of 166 runners at last year's regionals
* Hartle, Litwiler, and Laffan finished 77th (25:28.4), 90th (26:14.5) and 96th (26:33.3), respectively
* As a team, Behrend recorded a 12th place finish out of 24 teams with a total score of 300 at last season's NCAA Regionals
