Behrend Controls Presidents Cup Lead After Winter Season

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend Athletics remains in the lead in the 2023-24 Presidents Cup standings after the conclusion of the winter season. The Lions have won eight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships so far this year to tally 93 points out of a possible 102 total, for a league-high percentage ranking of 0.912.

This past fall, the Lions recorded a conference-high 49.5 points, winning AMCC cross country and women's soccer championships and finishing runner-up in women's tennis.

During the winter season, Behrend earned conference titles in women's basketball, men's and women's track and field, and men's and women's swimming and diving, while also finishing ahead of all full-time AMCC members in women's bowling. The Lions also finished as the runner-up in men's basketball.

The standing are calculated on a percentage of points earned divided by the total possible points. It factors in both regular season and post-season finish to provide a weighted measure of success

Alfred State climbed into the second spot after the winter season with a 0.709 percentage ranking, while Pitt-Greensburg moved into third place, posting a 0.681 percentage ranking.

The Lions are looking to capture their 21st Presidents Cup since the award was initiated in the 2000-2001 academic year.
