ERIE, PA – Penn State Behrend's own Russ Conley led all scorers with 24 points and pulled down a season-high 11 boards in the 102-69 victory over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opponent Mt. Aloysius at the Junker Center, Saturday.
Along with Conley, three more players reached double-digits for the Lions (11-1, 6-0 AMCC). Nick Dvorsky went 5-for-8 from the field to score 13 points including three triples while Justin Kovac dished out five assists and tallied 12 points of his own. Chris Saltzman also played well chipping in 11 points, three assists and two steals.
The Mounties (2-9, 0-6 AMCC) were led by Demetrius Davis's 18 points including a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.
Mt. Aloysius took a 14-12 lead with 13:08 to go in the first half. The Mounties held that lead for just over a minute until a pull-up jumper by Kovac knotted the game at 16-all. The Lions would then hit eight 3-pointers and go on a 32-10 run to close the half making it their largest first-half point total this season, 58-26.
Behrend would finish the game shooting 15-for-32 from behind-the-arc and record a season-low four turnovers while each Lion player scored in the 102-69 win over Mt. Aloysius.
Penn State Behrend will venture to Bradford, PA to take on the Panthers, Wednesday 12 at 8.pm.
