Behrend Men’s Basketball; Senior Day Success

ERIE, Pa. –Russ Conley led all Penn State Behrend basketball players in double figures, scoring 17 to lift the men over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opponent Franciscan, 75-46 at the Junker Center, Saturday.

Conley, who also grabbed seven boards, was helped out by Justin Kovac, Nick Dvorsky and Shane Skelly. The trio each tallied 11 in the Lions (20-3, 15-2 AMCC) last regular season home game.

The Barons (3-18, 3-13 AMCC) were paced by the AMCC's leading point scorer Kyle Klienschnitz. The senior guard put up 18 points on 5-for-12 shooting from the floor. Connor Flanagan also contributed 11 points and eight rebounds.

Behrend shot 53 percent from the field in the first half and turned Franciscan over six times to take a 39-19 lead after the first 20 minutes of play.

The Lions hit seven triples in the second half pushing their point margin to as much as 36 (69-33) with 7:06 on the clock. Behrend finished the evening committing only three turnovers and sent seniors Chris Saltzman and Justin Kovac away with a 75-46 win over Franciscan in their last game at the Junker Center.

Behrend is currently second place in the AMCC playoff picture with Medaille and La Roche still needing to face-off once more. The Lions will head to Allegheny on February 16 at 7 p.m. before finishing up conference play at Mt. Aloysius on February 19.
