Ralph Named to Scholar All-America Third Team

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's soccer senior goalkeeper Chris Ralph (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) was named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-America Third Team.

Ralph was also named to the USC Scholar All-East Region First Team to go on the All-America ballot. This is his second Scholar All-Region honor and first Scholar All-America Team accolade. As a sophomore, Ralph was an NSCAA Second Team All-American selection.

In the classroom, the project and supply chain major has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.46. This season, Ralph was an All-Great Lakes Region Second-Team choice in addition to AMCC Defensive Player of the Year, while being named to the All-AMCC First Team. He started in 21 contests and posted nine shutouts and a 0.83 goals-against average. Ralph won 15 games in goal for the Lions and made 72 saves.

For his career, Ralph started in every game he played and tallied a 43-9-6 overall record. He made 170 saves and registered 26 shutouts in three years. Ralph allowed 42 goals for a 0.73 career goals-against average.

To be nominated for Scholar All-Region, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career, start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team.
