Sophomore Matt Olimski Named All-MPSF Honorable Mention

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's water polo sophomore goalkeeper Matt Olimski (San Diego, CA/Otay Ranch) picked up All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Honorable Mention honors on Thursday as the league announced its annual accolades.

Olimski has played in 15 games for the Behrend Lions this season and has been the team's primary goalkeeper.  Olimski has made 170 saves and also has 30 steals. 

Olimski helped Penn State Behrend to a third-place finish earlier this season at the CWPA Division III Eastern Championships, earning All-Tournament Second Teams honors after posting 34 goals during the weekend and scoring the game-winning goal against Washington & Jefferson in the third-place game.  Matt also set a new MPSF record this season with a career-high 27 saves against Mercyhurst on September 9.

Penn State Behrend will take on Austin College tomorrow at Noon (9 a.m. PST) in the opening game of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships in Los Angeles, California.
