Behrend Women's Volleyball Hosts Invitational This Weekend
The Penn State Behrend women’s volleyball team will host six teams in the 2024 Behrend Invitational at the Junker Center on Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7. The Lions will face Geneva in their home opener today at 3 p.m.

* The Lions are coming off a 0-4 weekend at the Great Lakes Cross Over hosted at Cedar Point
* Behrend fell to Hiram, St. Mary's, Anderson and Monmouth (3-0)
* Libero Sarah Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) had double-digit digs in three of the four matches, recording a season-best 17 vs. the Terriers
* After four matches to start the season, the Lions rank first in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) in total blocks with 25
* Sophia Fuller (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) leads the team with 10 blocks
* Cadence Jones (North East, PA/North East) has a team-best 30 kills on the early season, while adding 12 digs, eight blocks, three assists and one service ace
* The Lions were picked to finish third in the AMCC preseason poll under the second-year head coach Ryan Laing
* Houghton, Alfred and Thiel are the only three undefeated teams heading into this tournament
