Behrend Women Open Home Stand With 12-9 Loss to Utica

The Behrend women's water polo team entered the Junker Center Pool ready to play as they took on the Utica Pioneers on Friday night.

The blue and white would strike first as junior Danielle Wilson (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) would score just :53 seconds into the game.  Utica would answer back as they would tally three unanswered goals to go ahead 3-1.  The Behrend Lions would find the back of the net as Danielle Palski (Souderton, PA/Souderton) would score off a penalty shot to bring the Behrend Lions within one.  Utica would net one more goal with just seven seconds left in the quarter to run the score to 4-2. 

Behrend would come out firing in the second quarter as Palski would net another while Kim Giles (North East, PA/North East) would score her first of the night with 5:29 left in the second.  Utica and Behrend would exchange goals to bring the score to 5-5.  Utica would then go on a five goal run before the Behrend Lions could score with 1:08 left in the third quarter to make it a 10-6 game.  Behrend would get another goal with under :30 seconds left in the third to bring the game with in three.  That would be the closest the blue and white would get as the Behrend Lions(0-5) fell 12-9.  Giles would finish the match with three goals as Palski would add four and Wilson would contribute two.

The blue and white have a busy weekend playing Chatham on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and then playing two games on Sunday.  They will first travel to Mercyhurst at 9:00 a.m. and then be back in the Junker Center pool at 12:00 p.m. to take on Gannon.
