Coach Niland Earns 400th Victory, Lions Down Mt. Aloysius, 75-66

ERIE, Pa. – Head Coach Dave Niland tabbed his 400th career victory Saturday as the Penn State Behrend men's basketball team routed Mt. Aloysius, 75-66. The Lions (13-2, 7-1 AMCC) shot the ball extremely well hitting 49.1 percent of their shots.

Zane Hackett (Brookville, PA/Brookville) followed up a career performance Wednesday night against Medaille with another strong outing scoring 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting. Hackett has been on fire shooting 75 percent over his last two contests.

Connor McLaughlin (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) drained a three-pointer at the 8:27 mark in the first half to break an 11-all tie and give the Lions their first lead of the contest. Behrend led for most of the game and built a double-digit lead just before the first half buzzer thanks to a Nick DeLisio (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) trey with 1:06 remaining in the first half.

The Lions scored the first five points of the second half and opened up a 15-point lead after a Hackett jumper and a three-pointer by Malquan Pullium (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent). Behrend would hold a double-digit lead for the majority of the second frame and closed out the contest winning by nine points.

Four Lions finished in double-figures for the seventh time this season. Pullium finished with 11 points and three steals while DeLisio netted 11 points and three rebounds. Wes Davic notched his seventh double-double of the year finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Behrend has won their last two contest and will travel to Hilbert on Monday. Hilbert boasts an 11-3 overall record and is tied for second place in the AMCC. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
