Men's Swimming and Diving in Fourth Place at Oberlin Invite

OBERLIN, Ohio – Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) placed second in the 200 IM to lead the Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team to fourth place out of 12 teams after the first day of the Oberlin Invite on Thursday.

Key Moments:


* Compton had the best finish on the day, placing second in 1:54.86, while Jacob Eshelman (Franklin, PA/Franklin) followed in third (1:56.36)
* Anthony Tumino (Hershey, PA/Hershey) led Behrend in the 50 free with a seventh-place finish in 21.70
* In the same event, Dan Tanaskovic (Monaca, PA/Central Valley) earned 14.5 points for placing 12th overall (22.20)
* In the 500 free, Shane Rupert (Richland Township, PA/Pine-Richland) had the fastest Behrend time for 16th overall (5:06.27)
* In the two relays, the Lions took sixth in each (200 free relay, 400 medley relay)
* Tanaskovic, Tumino, Eshelman, and Jax Abele (Erie, PA/Iroquois) swam a time of 1:27.38 in the 200 freestyle relay for sixth
* Tumino, Tanaskovic, Eshelman and Compton made up the 400 medley relay that took sixth with a time of 3:33.45.
