Men's All-Conference Team Announced

ERIE, Pa. – Eight players from the Penn State Behrend men's soccer program were selected to the 2010 All-AMCC team. The All-AMCC honorees include Jake Gamble, Jerry Tortella, Aaron Meehl, Lance Sabol, Brian Bodnar, Kyle McKinney, Danny Poljak and Chris Bolea.

Jake Gamble had a wonderful year for the men, his eight AMCC goals were two more then the next best league scorer. In the final game of the season Gamble tied the Behrend all-time single-season goal record (17) set by fellow first-teamer Jerry Tortella. Tortella earns the nod after a senior year which he led the league with six assists and netted just as many goals. Jerry also broke the programs carer goals record (33).

Representing the Behrend midfielders were Aaron Meehl, Lance Sabol and Brian Bodnar. Meehl makes his first appearance to the All-AMCC first team. He tallied seven goals on the season and was second on the team in points. Team co-captain Lance Sabol was the next midfielder from Behrend to get selected. Sabol's added six goals to the Behrend totals including the game-winner to beat Medaille with less than three seconds to play. Brian Bodnar earned second-team honors after a senior season in which his balanced play and leadership led the men to an undefeated AMCC record.

Defensively the Lions were stacked Kyle McKinney and Chris Bolea were named to the first team while Danny Poljak who scored two game winners this season was tabbed to the second team. In goal there was no one better than Bolea. The All-AMCC goalie led the league in shutouts (4), goals against average (.45) and save percentage (.857).  

These eight men a played a large part in the Lions 14-3-4 record on the season and undefeated in conference play for the first time in team history.
