Lions Compete at ECAC Track  & Field Outdoor Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Dylan Bilka won his second ECAC Track & Field Championship in the men's pole vault, this time outdoors, with a winning height of 16-05.25.

Bilka, who was named an Honorable Mention Division III Male Athlete of the Week by USTFCCCA, defeated 17 other competitors to become the first Lions' athlete to win a pair of ECAC titles in the pole vault.

Kalil Slaughter (Sheffield, PA/Sheffield) tied for ninth in the 100 meter dash after the preliminaries with a time of 10.89 to advance to the finals tomorrow. Milton Sibanda (Jefferson, PA/Jefferson-Morgan) placed 10th in his flight of the triple jump with a distance of 43-03.

On the women's side, Victoria Harwood (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) earned ninth place in the pole vault with an 11-07.25 height, before joining Alex Paget-Blanc (Paris, France/Aelene Boucher), Jamie Szramowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) and Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) for first in section two in the 4x400 race, only to finish 14th overall with a time of 4:03.07 to set a new school record.

Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) earned All-ECAC honors for her eighth place in the 10,000m race in a time of 38:25.08.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Paget-Blanc finished 37th with a time of 15.87, while Haley Hughes (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) was 27th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:15.91.

Both teams return to action tomorrow for the second day of the ECAC Championships.
