Lions Dominate At W&J

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field program grabbed first-place honors at the Washington and Jefferson Invitational, Saturday.

The Lions were led by Ronson Mazany and Mike Stark. First, Mazany earned second place in the long jump soaring 6.85 meters, before grabbing fourth place in the men's triple jump (13.14m). Stark added to his list of first-place finishes by winning the men's 110 high hurdles (15.24 seconds) and pole vault competition (14' 7.25"). Brian Lauff placed second behind Stark in the 110 high hurdles posting a time of 15.36 seconds.

Craig Webb was another standout athlete for Behrend. The sprinter picked up second and third place in the 100m and 200m races, clocking in at 11.22 seconds and 22.71 seconds, respectively.

Webb returned to the track with Jordan Telin, Cody Bupp and Shane Cyphert to earn first place in the 4x400 relay crossing the line at 3:27.92.

Along with Stark, Eston Winn and Denny Kang posted great numbers in pole vault. Winn finished second place, clearing 14' 7.25" and Kang fourth with 14' 1.25".

In other field events, John Bowman hurled the javelin 49.42m for yet another men's first place finish.

The Lions will return to action on April 9 at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
