Men's Track and Field Team Awards

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track & field program gave out their annual team awards upon the completion of the 2011 outdoor season.

This year, the Lions finished a program-best second place at the 2011 Mason Dixon Conference Championships with a team score of 133 points and broke numerous school records.

The team's Most Valuable Player was Mike Stark. Stark, also the 2011 Indoor team MVP, finished the year nationally ranked Top 30 in the pole vault and in the 110m hurdles.

John Cerminara was tabbed Most Improved Athlete once again by hurling the shot put over a foot longer than last year and the discuss by more than 13' 6" to earn repeat honors.

Jordan Telin was named the team's Leadership and Scholarship award winner. The senior sprinter is the voice of the track & field team and is also the President of Behrend's Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC).

The Lions donned two new Rookies of the Year recipients, Cody Bupp and Brian Lauff. Bupp was the Mason Dixon Conference Champion in the 400m hurdles, while Lauff was a bronze medalist in the 110m hurdles and ran the opening leg of the fifth place 4x100m relay team.
