Men’s Cross Country Set To Defend AMCC Title

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team will compete in the AMCC Championships, hosted by Hilbert. The 8k race begins at 11:00 a.m. at Delaware Park in Buffalo, N.Y.

* The Lions are looking to win their fourth consecutive championship and 15th AMCC title in program history
* A season ago, Behrend had seven runners score in the top 10 for All-Conference honors
* Junior Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) was crowned the AMCC Individual Champion for crossing the line first in a winning time of 27:14.5
* Aidan Domencic (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley)and Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) placed fourth and fifth with times of 28:59.9 and 29:07.9
* This season, the Lions own all but one of the top 15 times in 8k races
* Freshman Lucas Boyd (North East, PA/North East) ran the top AMCC mark of 25:58.4 at the Mike Woods Invitational, while Klein secured the second, third, and sixth top times. Boyd also ran the fourth fastest time of the year at the Houghton Highlander Invitational
* Domencic owns the fifth and 12th top times, while Kerr controls the eighth to 10th spots on the ranking sheets
* Freshman Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell) sits seventh and 14th on the list, respectively
