Men’s Cross Country Wins Fourth Consecutive AMCC Championship

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team captured its fourth straight and 15th overall AMCC Championship with 15 total points at the 2023 AMCC Championships Saturday afternoon in Buffalo.

Key Moments:

* The Lions claimed eight of the top 10 times Saturday for AMCC All-Conference honors, including six straight top marks
* Junior Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) notched back-to-back AMCC Runner of the Year honors, finishing with a time of 26:10.29
* Klein bested his time by over a minute from a year ago at championships where he crossed the finish line in a time of 27:14.5
* Trailing Klein the entire race was teammate Lucas Boyd (North East, PA/North East), who ran a time of 26:13.84 to earn AMCC Runner-Up
* Rounding out the top six was Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional), Aidan Domencic (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley), Christopher Annear (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia), and Peyton Brewer (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek)
* Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East) and Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell) registered eighth and ninth place finishes with times of 27:13.83 and 27:30.08, respectively
* Kerr (26:48.17), Domencic (26:55.86), Annear (27:08.16), and Reinsel all trumped their times from last season's championships
* Placing 12th and 13th for Behrend were Emil George (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) and Davis Saynuk (Columbia, MD /Howard), registering times of 28:02.10 and 28:10.99
* The final Lions to place at Delaware Park were Theodore Boehm (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Joey George (Leechburg, PA/Kiski), crossing the finish line at 28:15.51 and 28:21.43
* Behrend finished 39 points ahead of the second place school Alfred State (54 points) to claim the  conference championship, followed by Hilbert (76 points) and Pitt-Greensburg (83 points)
