Behrend to Host CWPA Division III Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend will serve as host of this year's Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Championships (CWPA) on April 14-15 at David M. Hallman III Aquatics Center. This tournament includes eight teams and 12 matches that will determine the 2018 CWPA Division III champion.

Behrend enters the tournament riding a three-game skid after last weekend's home loss against Mercyhurst. The Lions (6-10) are seeded sixth and will face Connecticut College on Saturday, April 14 at 2:20 p.m. The winner of that game will remain in the championship bracket, while the loser will play in the consolation rounds.

So far this season, Lauren Wood (Vernon Hills, IL/Vernon Hills) has paced Behrend's offense with 32 goals and 19 assists while Devon Van Rensburg (Johannesburg, South Africa/Crawford) leads the Lions defensive core with 37 steals. Rensburg has also provided offensive help with 27 goals on the season.

In terms of the tournament, the CWPA will be responsible for payment of all game management staff and officials. Ticket prices are as follows:

$15 – Weekend pass

$10 – One-day pass

Free – Children under 10

$7 – Weekend pass

$5 – One-day pass
