Behrend Women Take Care of Pitt-Bradford on Junker Floor

The Penn State women's basketball team took care of the Pitt-Bradford Panthers by a score of 71 to 52 on Wednesday, January 6 on the Junker Center Floor.  This was key win for the blue and white as they climb their way back into the AMCC hunt.

The first half saw an up and down the court battle as Behrend built a quick 10-2 lead out of the gate.  The Panthers would claw their way back before the Behrend Lions again built an eight-point advantage at 18-10.  The Panthers again rallied cutting the Behrend lead to one-point at 20-19 with 3:56 to play in the first half.  Behrend would forge another eight point lead at the break by turning Bradford turnovers into easy buckets to lead 27-19 at the half. 

The second half started with an early Behrend lead that grew to 38-24 at the 16:47 mark.  Behrend would trade baskets with Panthers and built on a lead that they would not surrender.  The blue and white continued to push the pace in the second half working toward a score of 68-47 with just under two minutes to play.  The Behrend Lions would end up taking the victory by a score of 71-52.  Kim Pol (Erie/Central) would lead the Behrend Lions with 20 points while freshman Taylor Lotis (Jefferson Hills/Thomas Jefferson) would chip in 10 points and five rebounds. 

With this win, Behrend improves to 5-5 overall and 3-3 in the conference.  Pitt-Bradford falls to 2-9 overall and 2-4 in the AMCC.  Up next for the Behrend Lions are a pair of conference road tests starting on Saturday, January 9 at the La Roche Redhawks.  Behrend will stay on the road as they battle the Hilbert Hawks on Wednesday, January 13.  The blue and white will be back at the Junker Center on Saturday, January 16 when they take on AMCC foe Penn State Altoona.
