Women’s Track and Field Runs at Spire

GENEVA, Oh. – Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) set a set new school record and was an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifier for the Penn State Behrend women's track and field at Spire on Saturday.

Crissman took home an ECAC qualifying run in the 300m run with a time of 1-:44.19 and eighth place effort, marking the new school record.

Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) earned two Top 10 finishes on the day, taking a fourth place finish in the 800m run at 2:24.72, and an eighth place finished at the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.77 seconds, which qualified her for ECAC's.

Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Caitlin Plazony (Fairview, PA/Fairview), Tia Stroncek,(Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills) and Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) of Behrend's 'A' squad placed second in the distance medley with a time of 13:34.79.

In the 4x400m, Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch), Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan), Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), and Pell took third with a time of 4:13.19.

Yenchik continued to battle at the invitational when she tied for third in pole vault with a height of 3.22m. Carlsson took part in the long jump and 400m where she placed seventh with a distance of 4.61 in the long jump, and seventh with a 1:02.96 finish.

The Lions return to Spire Friday and Saturday with a 7 p.m. start.
