Pell Sets New School Record at Ashland Alumni Open

ASHLAND, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team ran at the Ashland Alumni Open on Saturday.

Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) won the 400m hurdles with a new Behrend school record of 61.95, marking the seventh fastest time in NCAA Division III this year. She also took 13th in the 200m dash with a time of 26.95.

In the 3000m steeplechase, Becca Worley (Townville, PA/Maplewood) crossed the finish line at 12:53.21 for fifth-place.

Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Cannon McMillan) competed in the pole vault event, taking sixth place at a height of 11'1.75' (3.40m).

Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch) placed 10th in the 400m, running at a final time of 1:02.73.

The Lions returns to action on Friday, May 4 to compete in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championships.
