ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team began their season at the Mercyhurst Invitational on Saturday morning.
The Lions had three runners place in the top 10.
Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) led the way with a third place finish. Bertges crossed the finish line at 20:13.7. Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) and Danielle Stanko (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) took sixth and seventh respectively. Spade came in at 21:10.8 with Stanko close behind at 21:21.7. Haley Hughes (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) rounded out the top four with a time of 21:47.7.
The Lions will be back in action on September 15th at the Behrend Invitational.
