Altavilla, Majewski Named to Women's Basketball All-AMCC First Team

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend women's basketball players Morgan Altavilla (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) were named to the 2023 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team.

Majewski repeats on the First Team, while Altavilla joins her on the First Team after landing on the second team a year ago.

Majewski, the 2023-24 Preseason Player of the Year, ranked fourth in 17 AMCC contests with 18.7 points per game and finished fourth overall (18.5). She led the team in scoring in 12 games while registering double-figure points in 23 games.

Majewski was second on the team in points (482) and hit the 1,000-point plateau on January 3 against Pitt-Bradford. She ranked fourth in field-goals made in the AMCC and seventh in free-throw percentage (76.6). Majewski hit a career-high 33 points at Alfred State on January 17.

Altavilla was first in conference games in scoring with 21.1 points per game. She finished third overall after playoffs with 18.6 points. Altavilla led the team with 483 points, one more point than Majewski. She ranked first in AMCC games in field-goals (146) and three-point field-goal percentage (44.1). Altavilla was second in assists both in AMCC games and overall (79/103).

She ranked fourth in field-goal percentage in the AMCC (52.9) and overall (50.3). Altavilla leads the team with 4.0 assists and 2.1 steals per game. She scored a career-high 36 points at Mt. Aloysius, with a career-high 15 field-goals. She also scored double-digit points in 19 games and tallied two double-doubles.

The Lions season continues with the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday against No. 10 Catholic hosted by Washington & Lee.  Game time is 5 p.m.
