Long, Altavilla Grab AMCC Athlete of the Week Honors

ERIE, Pa. – Women's indoor track & field freshman Rylee Long (Slippery Rock, PA/Moniteau) and women's basketball sophomore Morgan Altavilla (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) were selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week for their respective sports.

Long recorded a distance of 35-4 ½ for ninth place in the triple jump at the Jud Logan "Light Giver" Open to earn AMCC Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Altavilla was named AMCC Women's Basketball Player of the week, averaging 27.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in two AMCC games last week.

She led the Lions in scoring each game, dropping 29 vs. La Roche, while also contributing eight rebounds, six assists and one steal in that game. Altavilla then recorded 26 points, another eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals in a win over Pitt-Bradford. Altavilla went 8-for-11 (72.7%) from three-point range on the week, including a career-high six triples vs. the Panthers.

This marks the second consecutive week that Altavilla has nabbed this honor.

The track & field teams return to action this weekend at SPIRE, while the women's basketball team competes on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday this week.
