Women's Track and Field Places Seventh at ECACs

ITHACA, NY – The Penn State Behend women's track and field team wrapped up the 2017 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships Saturday afternoon.

Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) was crowned ECAC champion in the 1000 meter race after posting a time of 3:03.75. She clocked in just .03 seconds shy of the school record.

Hancock then teamed up with Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch), Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan), and Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) in the 4x400 where they finished eighth with a time of 4:12.59.

Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) placed in both the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter race. She started by taking second place in the 60m with a time of 7.82, just .08 seconds shy of first. Allen then crossed the finish line in the 200m in 25.68 to earn fourth place. Again, she was less than a second behind the winner.

The women finished the tournament with 30 points, placing them seventh overall out of 44 teams.
