Women's Track and Field Competes at Ashland Open

ASHLAND, OH - The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at the Ashland Alumni Open Saturday afternoon.

The Lions were up against a solid group of competition including athletes from division I, II, and III schools.

Senior Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) took fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12:68, just .23 seconds behind the winner.

Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) placed fourth in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:20.25

In the 400 meter hurdles, Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) came in third after finishing in 1:04.11, which set a new school record.

Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) had a top-10 finish in the 5000 meter run. She placed eighth with a time of 18:46.58.

On the field side, Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) set a new personal best in the pole vault after jumping to a height of 3.51 meters (11'6").

The Lions will be back in action next Saturday and Sunday when they compete at the CSAC Championships, hosted by Keystone College.
