Three Named CSAC Athlete of the Week

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's and women's track teams had three athletes named Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Athlete of the Week for their performances at the Cal U Early Bird Meet Saturday afternoon.

Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning) and Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) earned the weekly honor on the men's side while Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) garnered the honor on the women's side.

Grafton was named track athlete of the week for his performance. He won the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles at the California Early Bird, breaking the school record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.13. He posted Top-10 national times in both races. He also ran a leg on the 4x100m relay team which took third in 42.67.

Obenrader earned field athlete of the week with three Top-5 finishes. He won the shot put with a toss of 16.68 meters and placed fourth in the discus (41.96) and hammer (40.78m). All three performances are CSAC leading marks.

Allen was named track athlete of the week after placing second in the 100m (12.21) and third in the 200m (25.76). She was also part of third place and school record 4x100m relay (49.36) as well as part of the fifth-place 4x400m relay (4:07.90). She finished the day with a 10th-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 4.83m.
