Lions Travel to Mount Union for John Homon Open

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field program will compete in the John Homon Open at Mount Union on Friday and Saturday in Alliance, Ohio.

* The Lions most recently competed in a quad meet at Carnegie Mellon

* Behrend had three first-place finishes and nine Top 5
* Emily Mischen (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) won the shot put event with a throw of 10.80m and finished second in the hammer throw (35.45m)
* For her effort, Mischen was named the Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) Field Athlete of the Week
* Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) came in first in the 800m run, finishing in 2:22.95 which awarded her the CSAC Track Athlete of the Week
* Shelton was also a member of the second place 4x400m team along with Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan), and Suraihyah Sule (Snellville, GA/Shiloh)
* In the women's 3000m run, Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) won with a time of 10:21.75, beating the school record
* Crissman now holds the record for both the indoor and outdoor 3000m runs
