Sargent, Yenchik Take Gold in Day One of AARTFC Championship

CORTLAND, Ny. – The Penn State Behrend track & field team competed in day one of All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday at SUNY Cortland.

Key Moments:

* The Lions finished with two gold medals after day one of the All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Track and Field Championship
* Senior Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) took home gold in the women's 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:24.61, breaking her own school record
* Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) finished with a gold medal in the pole vault with a leap of 3.63m
* Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) medaled with a fourth place finish in the 5,000 meter with a time of 18:12.29 followed by Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) in 13th
* In the men's pole vault, Elijah Dangrow (Greenville, PA/Greenville) finished seventh followed by Nick LaChut (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) in eighth and Jack Georgetson (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) in 12th
* The men's 4x400m team of Isaac Jones (Union City, PA/Union City), Eric Stehlik (Northport, NY/Northport), Colton Barger (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), and Nick Coleman (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) finished 11th with a time of 3:25.42
