AMCC Announces Cross Country All-Conference Teams

ERIE, Pa. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) men's and women's cross country All-Conference teams were announced on Monday. Penn State Behrend had seven men's and seven women's runners receive All-Conference honors.

At the helm for both teams was head coach Greg Cooper. Cooper was named the AMCC Coach of the Year on the men's and women's side. Cooper led the women's team to their third AMCC title in the last four years and led the men's team to their fifth consecutive AMCC crown.

On the women's side, junior Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) was awarded this year's AMCC Runner of the Year. Ramsey, a five-time AMCC Runner of the Week, was the individual champion at the AMCC Championship race. She has posted the fastest 6K time in the AMCC this season and has not been beaten by an AMCC runner all year.

Following Ramsey are seniors Katie Manno (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Abby Gilmore Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf). This is Manno's third All-Conference honor and Gilmore's second. Junior Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) and freshmen Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch) and Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) received All-Conference honors for the first time.

The men's team also had seven runners named to the All-Conference squad. Sophomore Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood) led the Lions at the AMCC Championships with a second-place finish and earned himself an All-Conference nod for the second time.

Three seniors were awarded All-Conference honors. Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin), last year's AMCC Runner of the Year, and Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent) earned the All-Conference honor for the fourth time. Cody Cornell (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut) earned the honor for the first time.

Sophomore Ian Griffith (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) and last year's AMCC Rookie of the Year, sophomore Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville) were awarded the All-Conference nod for the second time while junior Aaron Peters (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) was selected for the first time.

Both cross country teams are running at NCAA Regionals this Saturday, November 14.
