Men's Golf Sits Eighth at Edward Jones Shootout

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Competing for the first time this spring, the men's golf team sits in eighth place out of nine teams at the Edward Jones Shooutout hosted by Carnegie Mellon this weekend.

St. John Fisher leads the pack, shooting +17 for a score of 297 after the first round. Rochester is in second (299) with Point Park and St. Vincent tied for third with a close 300. The Lions scored a 336 on the day.

Zack Polanski is first on the team and tied for 25th overall after shooting a 41 on the front nine and 38 on the back for a 79 total. Kyle Meehl carded an 80 for the par 70 course to be tied for 34th heading into day two.

Alec Italiano was third for the Lions with an 87 (45-42) and Marc Neiswonger was one stroke away from him with an 88 (48-40). Dean Rainsville was the final golfer to score for Behrend. He shot an 89 to be two strokes out of third on the squad.

The Lions return to action tomorrow morning for the final day of the Edward Jones Shootout. Tee time is 8:30 a.m.
