Behrend Finishes Fourth at AMCC Golf Championships

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Kevin Koerbel shot a team-low score of 80 on day two of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Golf Championships to help Behrend finish fourth out of nine teams with a 657 total.

Penn State Altoona, who led after day one, tied Medaille today with a score of 322 to stay on top and be named the conference champions with a 638 final. There were three strokes separating second through fourth place. La Roche claimed second with 654, while Medaille got ahead of the Lions by one stroke with a 656 score.

Behrend shot a 328 yesterday and a 329 today. Koerbel paced the Lions on day one with the identical score of 80 to end with 160 to tie for eighth overall. After finishing in 13th on Sunday, Zack Polanski remained there after shooting an 82 today for a 163 total.

Kyle Meehl was one of two Behrend golfers who improved on their score from yesterday, carding an 85 and then an 81 for a score of 166 to tie for 17th overall. Marc Neiswonger came in tied for 20th and just two strokes away from Meehl with a 168 (82-86).

Anthony Mangano rounded out the Lions’ top five, placing 27th out of 45 golfers. He shot an 89 for a two-day total of 179.

Phil Keilman of Mount Aloysius was the individual medalist with a score of 154 (79-75) and La Roche’s Mike Sliman was runner-up with a 156 total (76-80).
