Hamburg, NY – The Penn State men’s golf program placed first out of four teams on a difficult par 72 course at the Hilbert Invitational Sunday.

A match of cards was the deciding factor between Behrend’s Marc Neiswonger and Medaille’s John Hamberman, both finished +6 over par but Hagerman’s hole-for-hole performance was good enough to rank him first in the individual bracket.

Five Lions would go on to earn Top 10 finishes, Anthony Mangano shot a 84 and placed 4th while Mitch Connor’s +14 was good enough to tie for 5th. Mike Sabolik (86) and Alec Italiano (88) rounded up the leader board for the  Lions with 7th and 10th place finishes respectively.

Behrend won the invitational by two strokes followed by Medaille (338), D’Youville (369) and Hilbert (395).  This marked the Lions second 1st place finish of the season.

Behrend will return to action today at Westminster, tee-off is scheduled for 12 p.m.
