New Castle, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men’s golf program competed in the annual Westminster Autumn Invitational Monday, finishing 7th out of 12 teams.

Malone University, with team low 322 won the event, their +34 par performance good enough to hold off Point Park by five strokes. The host Westminster, finished 3rd carding a 332 while Grove City (334) and Thiel (336) rounded the Top Five low scorers for the afternoon.  

Zach Polinski shot a season low 79 to lead the way for the Lions, his +7 outing put him 2 strokes behind the leader, Malone’s Ryan Gaughan.

Kevin Koerbel (+14) would conclude his day tying for 25th, while Marc Neisworger (+16) would finish the invitational in 31st place. David Phillips and Mike Sabolcik had strong performances for Behrend and finished the day even with each other at +22 over par.

The Lions will return to action October 10 at the AMCC Championships in Youngstown, Ohio.
