Men's Golf In Third at Edward Jones Shootout

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Zach Polanski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) is tied for third overall after carding a 75 (37-38) on the first day of the Edward Jones Shootout hosted by Carnegie Mellon on Saturday at The Links at Spring Church.

The Lions are fifth out of seven teams heading into the second day of competition with a score of 316. Point Park University is in first with a 305, followed by St. Vincent in second (308). Allegheny sits in third place with a 309.

Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) ends day one tied for 14th overall. He shot a 42 on the way out and a team-low 37 on the back nine for a 79.

Third on the team and 24th place is Scott Klein (Fairview, PA/Fairview). Klein managed a 39 on the front and 41 on the back for a total of 80. Freshman Nicholas VanDamia (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) finished tied for 33rd and fourth on the squad with an 82 (43-39) and Zach Berkstresser (Waynesburg, PA/Jefferson Morgan) carded an 85 (45-40) to tie for 38th.

Behrend will head back out to the course tomorrow for the second day of the invitational, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
