Behrend Takes Third at Thiel Invitational

GREENVILLE, Pa.  – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team placed third out of six teams with a score of 329 at the Thiel College Spring Invitational held at the Greens of Greenville on Saturday.

Grove City won the invitational with a score of 316 followed by the hosts in second with a total of 325.

Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) led the Lions with the second best score of the day. He finished fourth with a 77 after three others tied for first with a low score of 76. Zach Polanski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) finished second on the team with an 82, while Dan L'Herbier (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) carded an 84 in his first spring outing.

Alec Italiano (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) was the fourth golfer to have his score count towards the team total with an 86 on the par 72 course. Anthony Mangano (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland) ended with a 90 as the fifth member of the Lions squad.

Behrend returns to action on May 14th at the NCAA Division III Championships in Destin, Florida.
