Golfers Win Hilbert Invitational

HAMBURG, NY – Penn State Behrend had four men's golfers finish in the Top 5, including individual medalist Brian Ropiecki to win the Hilbert Invitational on Friday afternoon.

The Lions carded a 312 to capture their second straight tournament this fall season, beating out four other Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) teams. Pitt-Bradford took second (336) and Medaille was in third (356).

Ropiecki earned first-place overall on a tiebreaker against teammate Dante Vetica. The two scored a team-low score of 76. Vetica was in second, while newcomer Roman Klaric came in third place with a 78 in his first collegiate invitational.

Scott Klein was the final golfer to score for Behrend, ending in fifth place with an 82.

The Lions return to action Monday at Penn State Altoona.
