CHEEKTOWAGA, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team won their fifth invitational of the fall season, shooting a 318 to finish first out of five at the 2013 Spartan Shootout hosted by D'Youville at Diamond Hawk Golf Course.
Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) was the individual medalist of invitational with a low score of 76, while Scott Klein (Fairview, PA/Fairview) came in second overall carding five over par for a 77.
Roman Klaric (Hermitage, PA/West Middlesex) also made the Top 10, taking seventh place with an 81. Nicholas VanDamia (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Brian Ropiecki (North East, PA/North East) tied for 10th overall with an 84 total to round out the top five golfers for the Lions.
Medaille managed to place second out of the five teams (323) and Pitt-Bradford was third (340).
The Lions return to action next weekend at the AMCC Championships.
