Golfers Compete at Thiel

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team had four golfers finish in the Top 12 to take third out of six teams at the Tam O'Shanter Invitational hosted by Thiel on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions gathered a team score of 327 to take third, while St. Vincent was first with 304 and Thiel came in second with a 318 total.

Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) finished tied for third with three other golfers with a 78 total on the par 72 course. Roman Klaric (Hermitage, PA/West Middlesex) was second on the team and ninth overall with an 81. Nick VanDamia (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Brian Ropiecki (North East, PA/North East) tied for 12th, carding an 84 on the cold, rainy day.

The fifth golfer for Behrend, Scott Klein (Fairview, PA/Fairview) tied for 16th with an 86.

The Lions return to action on Saturday at the Thiel Invitational.
