Men's Track Competes at Dragon Open

TIFFIN, OH. - The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team competed at the Tiffin Dragon Open Saturday afternoon.

The Lions had six top-10 finishes on the day including three in the pole vault.

Luke Patten (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) came in fourth place in the pole vault. The senior vaulted to a height of 4.91 meters (16'1.25"), just one centimeter shy of the Behrend record and just the second individual to clear 16 feet indoors. Elijah Dangrow (Greenville, PA/Greenville) and Kyle Grimm (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) both tied for eighth place after clearing a height of 4.21 meters (13'9.75").

Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) competed against some of the nation's best in the shot put. The senior came in fifth after tossing a season-best 16.98 meters (55'8.50").

On the track side, the 4x400 meter team put together a fourth-place finish. Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville), Kurt Eberhardt (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton), Devin Ross (Shenango, PA/Shenango), and Patten teamed up for a time of 3:33.14.

Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) rounded out the Behrend day tied for ninth place in the 1 mile run. The freshman ran to a time of 4:30.28

The Lions will be back in action Friday when they compete at the Ohio State Elite meet beginning at 11 a.m.
