Men's Track and Field Dominate at Home Meet

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's track and field competed at their annual Behrend Invational Saturday afternoon.

Kurt Eberhardt (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton), Grant Rodgers (Oil City, PA/Oil City), and Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) each took two first-place finishes throughout the day.

Eberhardt got the day going winning the 100 meter dash in 11.20 seconds and then later won the 400 meter hurdles in 58.05 seconds.

Rodgers won both the long jump and triple jump going 6.30 meters and 12.22 meters, respectively. He also placed in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash with times of 11.50 and 23.13 seconds for third and second place finishes.  

Obenrader continued his dominance in the shot put, winning that event with a throw of 16.08 meters. He then tossed a 45.46 meter discus throw to take first.

Anthony Antonucci (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) edged out teammate Obenrader in the hammer throw after a toss of 46.07 meters. Obenrader took second with a 39.78 meter toss. Antonucci also placed in the discus and shot put with third and second places finshes, respectively.

Devin Ross (Shenango, PA/Shenango) placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.24 and then took second in the 400 meter run after posting a time of 51.03.

Dylan Buffington (Brookvill, PA/Brookville) and Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) cross the 800 meter race finish line in second and third place with times of 1:59.70 and 2:01.06, respectively.

Greg Graf (South Park, PA/South Park) won the 800 meter race in 2:08.05 and Alex Kubala (Pittsburgh, PA/North hills) won the 1500 meter race by nearly ten seconds, finishing in 4:18.07.

Luke Patten (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) continued his great year in the pole vault with yet another first place finish. He vaulted to a height of 4.93 meters to beat out his teammates Luke Aaron (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Elijah Dangrow (Greenville, PA/Greenville) who both posted heights of 4.23 meters.

Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning) took first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.40. Marcus Haesler (North East, PA/North East) took second in 16.2 and Colby Tarr (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) finished third in 16.38. Haesler and Tarr also had solid finishes in the other event they competed in throughout the day. Haesler won the high jump with a 1.70 meter jump and later came in third in the long jump. Tarr had the third-best javelin throw of the day, finished second in the 400 meter hurdles, and third in the 110 hurdles.

Oluwaseun Babalola (Wesbury, NY/St. Anthony's) placed second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.44 seconds

Behrend will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Ashland for a meet beginning at 11 a.m.
