Men's Track and Field Competes at Gator Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team competed in the Allegheny Gator Invitational Friday afternoon.

Tony Antonucci got the day going for the Lions, breaking the school record in the hammer throw and taking seventh after a toss of 48.29 meters.

Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) then competed in the shot put, taking the crown after a throw of 17.03 meters. He then competed in the discus, taking third with a toss of 45.71 meters.

On the track side, Kurt Eberhardt (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton), Grant Rodgers (Oil City, PA/Oil City), Luke Patten (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) and Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning) raced to a fourth-place finish in the 4x100 meter race after crossing the finish in a time of 42.05.

Patten also competed in the pole vault. He placed second with a height of 4.81 meters.

Eberhardt then ran in the 100 meter dash, finishing fourth with a time of 11.34.  His time of 11.10 in the prelims qualified him for ECAC's 

Grafton took home the crown in the 400 meter hurdles, posting a time of  52.95, which set a new school record.
