Rhodes, Hetrick Earn AMCC Athlete of the Week Honors

ERIE, Pa. – Men's volleyball sophomore Lewis Rhodes (Reston, VA/South Lakes) and men's indoor track & field senior Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) were selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week for their respective sports.

Rhodes claimed AMCC Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the week, tallying 13 blocks on Saturday (2.17 per set) to help the Lions go 1-1. He finished with six blocks, three kills, and one ace in a 3-0 win against Buffalo State and then added seven blocks vs. Trine.

Hetrick recorded the top finish in the field for the Lions at Ashland, jumping 6-0 ¾ in the high jump for first place to be named AMCC Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

The men's volleyball team is back in action this Wednesday at Thiel, while the track & field teams head to Maryland on Monday, Feb. 26 for the United East/AMCC Indoor Championships.
